Virginia Woman Raped, Police Seek Suspect

Sexual or violent crimes are taken very seriously by Virginia authorities, and the consequences of such actions can follow a person for years. Unfortunately, violent crime is all too common, and anyone accused of such crimes should retain the representation of an experienced Fairfax criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. A criminal defense lawyer can assist you by identifying any weaknesses in the commonwealth's case against you, and any error in the way the investigation was conducted or procedural errors in the way the case was filed may be grounds to have the charges against you reduced or even dropped. Attorney Wilfred W. Yeargan is dedicated to helping people accused of crimes clear their names, and is committed to getting each client he represents obtain the best possible outcome in his or her case.

According to a report published at Fairfaxtimes.com, Prince William County police have arrested a 17-year-old boy in connection with an alleged rape last month. The incident allegedly occurred on March 28th in Manassas, when a 31-year-old woman was walking to a friend's residence. The report indicates that a man approached the victim, displayed a handgun, and led her to a secluded area where he raped her. The attacker fled the area on foot, and was described as wearing a puffy black jacket and a black and white bandana. According to authorities, the suspect's description matched that of an earlier armed robbery earlier that day at a local barbershop. The suspect's name has not been released, due to the fact that he is 17.

The allegations that this suspect is facing are extremely serious, and could seriously affect his life for years to come. Anyone accused of violent or sexually related crimes should contact a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible to start building a defense. An attorney can assist you in mitigating any long term consequences you may be facing, and can ensure that your legal rights are protected.
